Dr. Shauna Birdsall

Dr. Shauna Birdsall is passionate about helping people with challenging health conditions fully understand their disease, navigate their integrative care options, and improve their quality of life. She helps to bridge the gap for patients between conventional and natural forms of medicine. She works closely with other healthcare providers, as many patients are best served by a team of providers, each with their area of expertise. Her approach to care places a high value on educating patients and partnering with them to find the lifestyle and nutrition strategies, as well as scientifically backed natural therapies, that will work best for them. She is highly experienced in both general naturopathic medical practice and is board certified in naturopathic oncology.

Dr. Birdsall graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2000 as a naturopathic physician in Oregon and completed a residency at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Naturopathic Medicine and Oncology in Illinois. Dr. Birdsall was among the first in the nation to be board certified in Naturopathic Oncology in 2007. Dr. Birdsall has published multiple articles, research abstracts, and posters at national conferences. She frequently speaks at conferences to healthcare professionals and enjoys giving talks to patient groups. She is dedicated to supporting patients achieve optimal health with chronic health conditions as well as supporting her patients with a cancer diagnosis through treatment and survivorship. Dr. Birdsall is strongly committed to providing individualized, compassionate, evidence-based care to empower and provide hope to patients. In 2019, Dr. Birdsall joined the Avante Medical Center team. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and Bernese Mountain dog, horseback riding, traveling and cooking.
