Sandy specializes in primary care and the prevention/treatment of chronic diseases in men and women. Her extensive expertise includes gynecology and optimizing the health and vitality of her patients using hormone replacement, nutritional recommendations, supplements, and botanicals, along with other lifestyle recommendations.

Education
Sandy graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing in 2006 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2021 she completed a 2-year fellowship with the prestigious Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, University of Arizona Tucson. She is one of just over 2,000 Fellows worldwide. In 2022 she completed a 10-month program with the Women’s Integrative Medicine Institute with nationally known Dr. Aviva Room. Sandy regularly attends educational conferences around the country on bioidentical hormone replacement and integrative and functional medicine. She is a current member of the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Personal Interests
Sandy has a personal interest in edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms. She can be found wandering through the woods foraging on any given summer or fall day. She is a member of the Turnagain Arm Mycological Society and the Alaska Native Plant Society. She enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, snowmachining, gardening, cooking and reading. She lives in Anchorage with her husband Rod.
