Lynn Mulheron, MS, FNP-C ENP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner seeing patients of all ages, and is board certified as both a Family and Emergency Nurse Practitioner. She has been an RN since 1994 and an NP since 2003. Lynn has extensive experience in primary care, cardiology, and emergency care, and is excited to expand her practice to include more integrative medicine here at Avante Medical Center. She is working on her Integrative Medicine Certification through Functional Medicine University. She is very experienced in managing acute and chronic conditions, has extensive experience in procedures (including joint injections and trigger point injections for pain relief), and derives great satisfaction in solving complex medical mysteries. Her own experiences as a patient make her driven to partner with her patients to find their own answers and path to wellness. She has always advocated the use of herbal supplements whenever possible. Lynn also believes in “unprescribing,” getting people off medication whenever possible as soon as lifestyle goals have been met.
Lynn is a native New Yorker, and has lived, studied, and worked in New York, Massachusetts, and Arizona. After earning degrees in Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences with a concentration in Biology at Simon’s Rock (Early) College of Bard, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and did her graduate work at Columbia University in NYC and Arizona State University. She has earned all of her degrees with various honors and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for nurses. She did her graduate projects in the third world. Lynn studied manual medicine for two years alongside DO students at Midwestern University in Arizona. Her love of travel has led to many locum tenens positions over the years as a nurse and nurse practitioner, in both rural and urban settings, including six years at the Mayo Clinic Arizona. She is a current member of the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Lynn has done medical mission work in Guyana, volunteers at her church, and spent many years volunteering as an EMT and paramedic.
When she’s not in the office, Lynn can be found singing, reading, hiking, or traveling. She’s been to all 50 states and 20+ countries (and counting), but never strays far from the internet and patient portal. She’s excited to be joining some of her family who have lived in Alaska more than 15 years.
