CLINICAL EXPERTISE

Dr. Keefer has been providing quality integrative care to Alaskans since 2004. She began her nursing career working at various specialties including medical/surgical, infusion, primary care practices and behavioral health. In 2011, Leigh started her career as a family nurse practitioner working in primary care utilizing integrative philosophies. In 2016, she received her doctorate degree specializing in rheumatology as well as other autoimmune diseases.

She has an extensive background in primary care, family health, behavioral health and functional medicine.

“Each and every client has a unique story. I make a point to listen and understand their experience and history so that I can personalize their care. My goal is to address the root cause of an illness or condition. I also encourage a proactive approach to prevent the development of disease and optimize quality of life.”

EDUCATION

Dr. Keefer graduated from the University of Anchorage, Alaska (UAA) with her BSN in Nursing in 2004. In 2011, she received her MSN (Masters in Nursing Science) from UAA and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from UAA in 2016.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES & PERSONAL INTERESTS

Dr. Keefer was born and raised in Alaska in the Matanuska Susitna Valley. She enjoys traveling, cooking nourishing meals, being with her family, yoga, running, swimming, and hiking the Chugach mountains.
