
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Bocachica is a highly qualified dermatologist and cutaneous surgeon, certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
After completing an internship in Internal Medicine, Dr. Bocachica joined the United States Public Health Service where he chose to spend three years as a General Medical Officer serving Alaska’s Native community, He has worked throughout Alaska from very rural areas to urban settings and has been to every region within the vastness of Alaska.
His expertise has led him to serve as the Medical Director of the Special Diseases Clinic in Southern California, the Public Health Officer for Orange County, California, and Clinical Chief of Dermatology as well as Associate Director of the Dermatology Residency program at Loma Linda University.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bocachica has held several teaching positions, including academic professorships in dermatology and medicine.
He has also won multiple awards for excellence and innovation in the field of dermatology.
Dr. Bocachica is fluent in Spanish.

Education
Dr. Bocachica earned his M.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook as a Robert Woods Johnson Scholar.
He completed the normally four-year course of medical school in just three years, making him one of the very few physicians in the nation to do so.
Dr. Bocachica completed his residency in dermatology at both the United States Public Health Service Hospital in New York and the University of California-Irvine; providing him with excellent training in both clinical and surgical skills.
Extracurricular Activities & Personal Interests
Dr. Bocachica has a background in the performing arts and has acted and sung professionally in both theater and other venues. He has traveled to all 50 states and throughout the world both professionally and with his family. He is a lifelong learner and has enjoyed homeschooling and amplifying the education of his children and grandchildren.
As a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon with several years in the field, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the diagnosis and management of a wide range of conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. My specialized knowledge and skills allow me to offer comprehensive care and personalized treatment plans for various dermatological issues, ensuring optimal outcomes for my patients.
In my practice, I focus on diagnosing and effectively managing conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin discolorations, sun damage, wrinkles, skin changes associated with aging, as well as fungal infections of the skin and nails, hair disorders including hair loss and many more dermatologic concerns. My thorough examinations of the skin are characterized by meticulous attention to detail, enabling me to detect conditions early and intervene proactively.
As a dermatologic surgeon, I perform surgical procedures such as mole removal, skin biopsies, excisions of skin cancers, and other minor surgeries to address specific dermatologic concerns.
In addition, I offer cosmetic procedures such as dermal fillers, chemical peels and cosmetic skin care advice to enhance and optimize the appearance of the skin and address concerns related to aging and aesthetics.
