I am a licensed massage therapist practicing in Alaska since 2011. My nine years have been at spas, athletic clubs, ski lodges, chiropractic clinics, yoga and Pilates studios as well as a private practice. I’ve developed a style influenced mostly by Swedish and deep tissue therapy with myofascial release, neuromuscular technique, stress management and others applied when appropriate.
I was born and raised in Valdez, Alaska, living most of my life in this state. In 2011 I completed a massage program at Maui School of Therapeutic Massage and returned to Alaska for all my professional work.
From wellness spa treatments, various ayurvedic techniques, to Lomi Lomi (traditional Hawaiian bodywork), and medical massage, I’ve seen therapeutic touch transform much more than the physical expression. Subtle body energy is of great interest to me now as I proceed on this wellness adventure. I want to understand how to utilize it and better influence the alignment of the whole self.
I believe it is essential for my clients to become active in their healing process. Working alongside the practitioner, this collaboration I’ve witnessed truly heals people and therefore our communities.
I enjoy practicing yoga and breath work, as well as being active outdoors. Being part of this team at Avante is a longtime dream for me in that I get to work with a diverse body of practitioners.

Danielle Kalbfleisch, MS, CNS, LN is a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist from BCNS and a State of Alaska Licensed Nutritionist. She has worked in OBGYN, urology, oncology, and family medicine fields over the last 8 years. She enjoys working with a variety of ailments and helping find a balance between the best dietary measures and a patient’s life.
Philosophy of Care:
A nutritionist helps move patients through evidence based dietary adjustments that best fit their health needs and goals. They work from a whole-body wellness approach, acting as an educator and a coach to support real life sustainable changes. Initial visits involve getting a detailed health, social, and lifestyle history, as well as providing education, measurements, and collaboration of a plan. Follow up visits include reassessment of measurements and adjustments to the plan as needed. “I believe in patient informed care utilizing evidence-based nutrition when formulating a plan. I want to educate and collaborate with the patient to bring a sense of empowerment. My goal is for you to walk away from the visit with knowledge, empowerment and a renewed sense of motivation.”
Danielle graduated from University of Bridgeport Connecticut with a Master of Science in Human Nutrition. Her undergraduate degree is from University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and minor in Athletic Training. Danielle continues her education by attending conferences yearly in a wide variety of nutrition topics.
When she is not helping patients, Danielle is outside enjoying many Alaskan outdoor activities. Her favorites are hiking, gardening, and working agility with her dog.

She provides diversified chiropractic manipulation with a multitude of therapies including massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy, therapeutic stretching, lumbar and cervical traction, flexion-distraction, ultrasound and electric muscle stimulation and many other supplementary modalities. In addition to the spine and extremities, she has a desire to optimize the overall health of her patients. She also enjoys working with expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy and offers the Webster method and other techniques to ensure the most comfortable experience possible.
Issues such as inflammation, insomnia, hormonal imbalances, and autoimmune disorders can have a huge impact on the body’s ability to heal and control pain. As a provider at Avante I work to identify contributing factors that may be negatively affecting the musculoskeletal system and prevent positive treatment progression. My goal is to encompass all aspects of your health, working with additional Avante providers when necessary, to implement a truly comprehensive and effective treatment plan.
Dr. Willmon graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-medicine and Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. She continued her education at University of Western States where she received honors with a Doctorate of Chiropractic. While acquiring her doctoral degree she spent additional hours learning massage and soft tissue techniques to further expand her skill set. That motivation to learn has continued into her working career with a desire to develop new skills and advance her knowledge with a variety of complimentary education.
She appreciates communicating and cooperating with other health care professionals as part of an integrative team approach. She strives to provide thorough, high-quality care, tailored to each patient’s needs while providing the tools her patients require to maintain optimal health and well being. She understands that each person is unique and entitled to individualized consideration and that quality care usually involves the understanding and correlating of many factors into a comprehensive plan of well-being.
Her spare time is spent with her family including her husband, an Anchorage fire fighter, two children and a couple of rambunctious dogs exploring Alaska and enjoying the occasional trips out of state. You’ll also find her at the gym where her interest in anatomy and kinesiology are combined with a love of weightlifting.
