"Experience the Future of Medicine"

Kimberly Kubick, CNM, FNP

kimberly webClinical Expertise:

Kimberly has been an Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Nurse-Midwife for over 10 years and has a wide-ranging career spanning women's health, public health, and international medicine. She specializes in chronic disease management, diabetes, hypertension, fatigue, weight loss, anti-aging medicine, and has a passion for hormone balance in women and men.

Kimberly believes that every man and woman has a unique balance of hormones and has witnessed positive outcomes for numerous patients who chose bio-identical hormones. Hormone replacement therapy in women balances estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, which can relieve peri-menopause, prevent memory loss, provide libido support, promote heart health, induce bone production and accelerate growth and repair of healthy tissues throughout the body. She believes that bio-identical hormones are extremely effective tools for managing hormone balance, when in the care of the right provider.

As men age, their testosterone levels change and may fall below the optimal range. Low testosterone can be a predictor of cardiovascular disease and can effect insulin regulation, bone density, and cognitive abilities. Stabilized testosterone levels improve mood, energy, strength, and cognition. It improves body composition by encouraging more lean muscle and reducing fat as well as improving libido and erectile dysfunction.

Philosophy of Care:

"I believe in treating the whole person; body, mind, and spirit. I love getting to know each person as an individual and not just a set of symptoms or illness because sitting and listening to a patient is the best part of my job.”

Education:

Kimberly graduated from Reed College in Portland, Oregon with a degree in Psychology/History in 1997 and then went on to Vanderbilt School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee where she received a BSN/MSN in Nurse-Midwifery in 2002. Several years later she received her second Master's Degree in Nursing from OHSU in Portland, Oregon and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society. Kimberly is currently taking classes towards her degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

Kimberly continuously adds to her didactic education by regularly attending educational conferences in integrative medicine and anti-aging medicine throughout the country. She is a current member of the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Extracurricular Activities & Personal Interests:

Kimberly has a strong commitment to the community and regularly volunteers at Brother Francis Shelter's caring clinic. She is also a Captain in the Air Force Reserves and works in the medical flight.

Patient Testimonials

  • "I love going to Avante...they take pride in patient care and are always willing to accommodate... simply the best.."CSL
  • "I have been a patient at Avante for 5 yrs now, and I have only positive things to say about the quality of the care that I receive from the entire facility. From the smiles at the front desk to the efficient lab techs and all of the staff in between. My health has turned around thanks to the care from Kiki Green and Grant Gibbs. Competent, caring and constantly striving for the newest information available to share with me. They embody the best in what I want in Holistic and Modern Medical care - JH
  • "I came to Avante about 8 months ago when I was looking for a doctor after moving to Alaska, my husband and I saw Dr. Jana.  We were pleased with the office and esp. the care we received from Dr. Jana. It feels good to leave a doctors office not loaded down with lists of new medicines but  positive thoughts of lifestyle changes that will produce better health. I started seeing Tina at the first of November and two days after the first acupuncture treatment I was in the least amount of pain in over 25 years.  Believe me I have tried many different medical treatments some with more success than others.  I am so encouraged to look forward to more mobility and greater health! I feel younger and more energetic. Thank you Avante.  I also love the patient portal and have found that the staff always responds to my online questions." - PM
  • "Finally a doctor is listening to me! I am so very very happy with Avante Medical and so thankful to be getting answers and in the right direction for great health! THANK YOU!" - VW
  • "I have been a patient of Avante's for several years now, and I have only wonderful things to say about their business. The place is beautiful and welcoming, the staff are all very helpful and kind, and the providers, all 3 I have seen, currently Kikki Green and Grant Gibbs, have been intelligent, intuitive and efficient. They care about you and your health. The lab is clean and full service and the nutritional supplements are extensive and high quality. The use of the Patient Portal is outstanding!  Give yourself extra time is my only recommendation as they sometimes get backed up on scheduling." - JH
