Sue Tollefsen is a Human Resources Professional with 28 years experience in Organizational and Human Resource Management. She worked for Carr-Gottstein Foods for 17 years in business operations and as Director of Human Resources. She was Director of Human Resources for Charter Behavioral Health for five years and recently retired from Providence Health System after six years as Director of Recruitment and Employment.

Sue’s experience in employment practices, training and development, and strategic planning was recognized in 1995 by the community when she received the BP Women of Achievement Award for her expertise in HR and commitment to community service. Among the highlights of her accolades is her eight-year appointment to the Governor’s Committee for Employment of People with Disabilities. Also, Sue is the co-founder of the Business Development, School – to- Work Program developed in conjunction with the Anchorage School District; it has continued to operate successfully for 15 years. Sue is married with two children and three grandchildren.

She has lived in Alaska for 30 years. For the past year, she has been consulting in Human Resources. Recently, she accepted a position at Avante and looks forward to playing her part in Avante’s success.
