Stephanie is a long time Alaskan who has been practicing nursing in Alaska for the past 18 years. She obtained her BSN in 1991 and her MSN in 1996 from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She is board certified in Family Practice and is licensed to care for patients of all ages. She has a strong background in conventional medicine. She began her career in labor and delivery and neonatal nursing, moving onto pediatrics. She has worked in both private practice and with the federal government. She has often served as a preceptor for students and her history includes teaching with the Community Health Aide Program, which is unique to Alaska. For the past 7 years, her practice primarily has encompassed primary care and internal medicine with the Veterans Administration where she was voted Nurse Practitioner of the year in 2007. She is past officer of the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association. She plans on pursing her doctorate and is continues to keep up on her education by attending yearly conferences on topics of both primary care and integrative medicine. She and her husband, Michael, have lived in Alaska for the past 23 years, and have long been involved in many community events. They have enjoyed raising their family in Alaska. Stephanie's commitment to health and wellness, as well as her extensive medical experience in managing complex chronic disease across all ages make her an asset to our Avante team. She has full prescriptive rights, extenseive medical experience and a philosophy and passion for medicine that is based in health and wellness.
