Before joining the leadership team at Avante Medical Center, Kathe was employed by Providence Health and Services Alaska for 26 years. While employed at PHSA, she was the Manager of Employee Health and Wellness, Master Change Facilitator, the Director of Rural Health and Alliances, Director of International Medicine and Telemedicine and Director of the Center for Child Development. She is the co-founder of the Alaska Telemedicine Project (established in 1994 with UAA) and the Alaska Telehealth System, a statewide and international telemedicine communication network. She has traveled extensively through out Alaska, Russia and Eastern Europe consulting on the development of telemedicine, telehealth and health care improvement projects. From 2004-2008, Kathe was privileged to be the volunteer, Executive Director of the International Virtual e-Hospital Foundation formerly the Kosova Foundation for Medical Development.

Kathe completed a Health Care Executive Fellowship in Integrative Medicine and a Fellowship in Intuition from the Kaiser Institute. Kathe was an Early Childhood Instructor at UAA for more than 11 years and she has provided workshops and seminars in infant/toddler and human development. She has been involved in the field of Infant/Child Massage since 1974. Kathe has lectured, instructed in nursing and medical schools and taught courses to parents and early childhood teachers about the art and value of Infant Massage. Her research in cultural anthropology focused on mothering worldwide with an emphasis on the use of infant/child massage. Kathe’s background includes nursing, midwifery, Integrative Medicine, early childhood education, business development, telemedicine/telehealth.
